Core Web Vitals optimization

Website speed optimization services, measured on real visits

DevoraTech provides website speed optimization services from Tangier, Morocco, for businesses worldwide whose pages load slowly on phones. We measure your site with Google's PageSpeed Insights and the Chrome UX Report, find what holds each page back, and fix the images, the code, the caching, the fonts, the scripts and the hosting settings. Then we measure again and send you the figures.

Google judges page experience with three Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint for loading, Interaction to Next Paint for the response to taps and clicks, and Cumulative Layout Shift for visual stability. A page passes when at least three visits in four reach the "good" mark on all three: main content shown within 2.5 seconds, a response within 200 milliseconds, and a layout shift of 0.1 or less. Those visits are real ones, collected by Chrome over 28 days, so our work aims at your visitors' own phones and connections.

Speed work belongs with our website maintenance services, next to website security, because a fast site slows down again as images, plugins and scripts are added. Speed work is done as a one-off job or as part of a maintenance plan.

Part ofWebsite maintenance

  • Core Web Vitals from real visits
  • Before and after report
  • One contact in English or French

For whom

Who it is for

  • A business whose site takes several seconds to show anything on a phone
  • An online store whose product and checkout pages load slowly or jump while loading
  • A company whose Search Console lists slow pages in its Core Web Vitals report
  • A site weighed down by plugins, a page builder and scripts nobody remembers adding

What we fix

What slows your pages down

  1. Heavy images

A photo uploaded straight from a camera and shown in a small frame still downloads at full size. When it is the main image of the page, the Largest Contentful Paint waits for every byte of it.

  2. Scripts that block the page

Chat widgets, video embeds, tracking tags and page builder code all run on the visitor's phone. Too much JavaScript keeps the browser busy, so a tap on a menu or a button answers late: that delay is what Interaction to Next Paint measures.

  3. A slow server response

Nothing shows until the server answers. A hosting plan too small for your traffic, pages rebuilt from scratch on every visit and chains of redirects all delay that first byte. Google's guidance on web.dev suggests that most sites aim for 0.8 seconds or less.

  4. A layout that jumps

Text moves down as an image, an ad or a banner appears above it, and the visitor taps the wrong link. Images and embeds without set dimensions, content added late and web fonts that swap are the usual causes.

What you get

What our website speed optimization services include

  1. Speed audit from real visits

The pages that matter most, such as your home page, your service or product pages and your checkout, measured in PageSpeed Insights on phone and computer. We read the field data from the Chrome UX Report, the lab tests and, with your access, the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console, then list each problem with its likely effect.

  2. Images

Each image resized to the size it is shown at, saved in WebP or AVIF, given its width and height, and loaded only as it nears the screen. The main image of the first screen is never delayed: it is requested first.

  3. Code and third-party scripts

CSS and JavaScript that a page does not use, removed or delayed. Every third-party script reviewed with you: we remove what adds no clear value, load the others after the page, and show a light preview for videos and maps until the visitor clicks.

  4. Caching and hosting settings

A page cache, browser cache rules for images, styles and scripts, compression, a content delivery network when your visitors are far from the server, and shorter redirect chains. When the hosting plan itself is too small for your traffic, we tell you and help you choose another.

  5. Fonts

Fewer font files, in the WOFF2 format, limited to the characters and weights your pages use, with a display setting that keeps text readable while the font loads.

  6. Core Web Vitals fixes

The three metrics treated one by one: the largest element of each page loaded sooner, long JavaScript tasks broken up so taps answer quickly, and space reserved for images, embeds and banners. Interaction to Next Paint replaced First Input Delay as a Core Web Vital in 2024, and our reports follow the current three.

  7. Before and after report

The same pages measured before and after the work: the lab figures at once, the field data as Chrome updates it over the following 28 days, and the list of what was changed.

Platforms

Speed work on WordPress, Shopify and custom code

We work on the platforms we maintain, and each one sets its own limits on what can be changed: we write them in the plan. We built DevoraTech's own site to the same rules.

  1. WordPress and WooCommerce

WordPress speed optimization starts with the plugins, the theme and the page builder: what each one loads on every page. Then come the cache, the images and the database. For WooCommerce stores, we test the cart and the checkout after each change.

  2. Shopify

Shopify runs the hosting and the software, so the work is in the theme code, the apps and the images. Each app can add scripts to every page, and we review them with you.

  3. PrestaShop

Stand-alone stores on your own hosting: the modules, the cache settings, the catalogue images and the server.

  4. Custom code

Sites and web apps written in custom code, such as Laravel: how pages are built, how images are produced, and how long the server works before it answers.

Process

How a speed project runs

  1. 1. Pages and access

You tell us which pages bring your visitors and your requests. We ask for access to the site admin, the hosting and, if you have it, Search Console. For a first look before any quote, our free SEO audit includes phone speed.

  2. 2. Measurement

Each page measured on phone and computer: field data where Chrome has enough visits, lab tests everywhere. A recent or quiet page may only have figures for the whole site.

  3. 3. Written plan and quote

The fixes ranked by effect and risk, what each side provides, and what stays as it is.

  4. 4. Fixes on a copy of the site

Changes are made and tested on a copy first, with a backup taken before they reach the live site.

  5. 5. Measure again

Lab figures right after the work, field data over the next 28 days, in a short report.

  6. 6. Keep it fast

New images, plugins and tags are where speed is lost again. Speed checks continue with your maintenance plan, after updates and new content.

Questions

Website speed optimization: your questions

How much do website speed optimization services cost?

It depends on the platform, the number of page types and what slows them down: a theme, the hosting or a few heavy images. We measure first, then send a written quote that lists each fix. Speed work is done as a one-off job or as part of a maintenance plan. Request a quote with your site address.

Can you promise a PageSpeed score of 90 or 100?

No. The PageSpeed Insights score comes from a lab test on a simulated mid-range phone, and Google's Core Web Vitals assessment uses real visits from the previous 28 days: the two can differ. Our targets are set on the Core Web Vitals of your real visitors, and the report shows both.

Does site speed affect Google rankings?

Google recommends good Core Web Vitals "for success with Search" and says they align with what its ranking systems reward. It also says that good results in its Core Web Vitals report do not guarantee top rankings, and that it shows the most relevant content even when page experience is weaker. Speed helps a page that already answers the search well.

Do you offer WordPress speed optimization?

Yes. WordPress speed optimization covers the plugins, the theme, the page builder, the cache, the images and the database, tested on a copy of the site before it goes live. For a WooCommerce store, we also test the cart and the checkout. When the theme itself is the problem, we say so and compare a fix with a website redesign.

Will speed work change my design?

Your design stays as it is: we change how images, code and fonts load. When one element slows a page and cannot be made lighter, such as a video background or a large slider, we show you the options before touching it.

When will the results show?

Lab figures improve as soon as the changes are live. The field data in PageSpeed Insights covers the previous 28 days, so it moves over the following weeks as new visits replace old ones. A site with few visits may have no field data at all, and then we report the lab figures.
