Shopify development: your questions

  • How much does a Shopify store cost, and how long does it take?

    It depends on the theme work, the number of products, the apps, the languages and any move from another platform. Request a quote and you receive a written quote and a schedule. Shopify's plan, paid themes, app subscriptions and payment fees are recurring costs, listed separately.

  • Can you move my store to Shopify without losing my visitors?

    Yes. Products, and customers if you wish, are imported from a file or with a migration app. Shopify uses fixed address patterns for products, collections and pages, so your old addresses change: we list them and add a redirect for each one in Shopify. We test the main pages and an order before the switch.

  • Do I need a custom theme, or will a Theme Store theme do?

    Many stores do well on a Theme Store theme adjusted to their brand, which costs less to build and to update. Custom sections or a custom theme suit stores with special product pages or a design the themes cannot follow. We recommend one in the written scope, and we also build a custom app when no app in the App Store covers a feature.

  • Do I need Shopify Plus?

    Most stores start on a standard plan and move up when their volume or their needs call for it. Shopify Plus is Shopify's plan for larger and high-volume businesses, with a higher fee. We look at your sales and your needs in the first call and write the plan we recommend in the scope.

  • Can I hire a Shopify developer for my existing store?

    Yes. Store owners and companies give us a defined piece of work: theme changes, new pages, app setup, translations or fixes, and support after launch. Each job has a fixed price, or a developer works on your store for an agreed share of each month, at a monthly rate, with one month of notice to stop. You give us staff access to your store, and the store stays in your name.

  • How does working with you from abroad work?

    We build Shopify stores for brands worldwide by video call, email and WhatsApp, talking with you in English or French, and you approve the design and each stage before the store opens. Tangier is on GMT all year: the same time as London in winter, one hour behind Paris and Madrid in winter and two hours behind in summer. Your accepted quote is our agreement, and a short contract or an NDA is added when you ask, signed by email.
