AI search optimization
Generative engine optimization services for pages AI can cite
DevoraTech offers generative engine optimization services (GEO) to businesses that want to be a source when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode about their field. We make your pages easy for these tools to reach, read and quote: the answer at the top of each page, your business facts stated the same way everywhere, structured data that matches the page, and crawler access checked on your server. No one controls what an AI answer cites, and we say so from the first call: we work on what makes a page worth citing, then measure what changes.

Some agencies call this AI search optimization, answer engine optimization (AEO) or LLM SEO. Google's own guide to generative AI search says that optimizing for it is still SEO, so GEO sits inside our SEO services. Our own website is built this way: answer-first service pages, structured data, an llms.txt file and a robots.txt that lets AI crawlers in. We are based in Tangier, Morocco, and work with clients worldwide in English or French. A free SEO audit is a good first step, because a page Google cannot index is a page its AI features cannot link to.
Part ofSearch engine optimization
- Answer-first pages
- AI crawlers checked
- Our own site built this way
For whom
Who it is for
A company whose clients ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a provider before they open a search engine
A business that ranks in Google and wants to appear among the sources of AI Overviews too
A firm whose buyers compare suppliers with AI assistants before they get in touch
A site whose server or firewall may block AI crawlers without anyone having decided it
A team that has heard many promises about AI search and wants a plan it can check
What we fix
What keeps a site out of AI answers
AI crawlers cannot reach your pages
OpenAI states that sites opted out of OAI-SearchBot will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers, though they can still appear as navigational links. A line in robots.txt, or a firewall rule that blocks unknown bots, can shut ChatGPT search out without anyone choosing it. OpenAI adds that a robots.txt change can take about 24 hours to reach its systems.
Google cannot show the page with a snippet
To be a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode, Google says a page must be indexed and eligible to show in Google Search with a snippet. A stray noindex, a nosnippet tag, a page that returns an error or a section Googlebot is not allowed to crawl removes the page from both.
The answer is buried
A page that opens with a slogan and gives the answer in its fifth paragraph makes every reader work for it. We write the answer first, in a sentence that still makes sense when it is read alone.
Your facts disagree from one place to another
Services, prices, addresses and founding dates that differ between your site, your profiles and directories leave any reader unsure which version is true. Google also notes that up-to-date Business Profiles and Merchant Center information can help your products and services show in AI responses.
Your content says what everyone says
Google's guide separates commodity content, built on common knowledge, from content that brings unique expert or first-hand takes. It says that content people find unique, compelling and useful will likely matter more for generative AI search in the long run than any of its other suggestions. Its guidance on helpful content adds that, of experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T), trust is most important. A page that repeats the same ten tips as every competitor gives an AI answer little reason to pick it.
What you get
What our generative engine optimization services include
AI visibility check
The questions your clients ask, written with you, asked in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google Search, with the answers and the cited sources logged. This log is the starting point every later check is compared with.
Crawler access
Your robots.txt, server and firewall rules checked for Googlebot, Bingbot and OAI-SearchBot. Training crawlers are a separate choice: GPTBot for OpenAI, Google-Extended for Gemini. You decide which ones to allow, and we set the rules.
Answer-first pages
Your main service pages and FAQs rewritten so each opens with a direct answer, followed by the details, the process and the proof. Each FAQ answer fits in a few sentences that can be quoted alone.
Your business facts in one version
One clear page on who you are, what you offer, where you work and how to reach you, and the same facts on your profiles, in directories and wherever your business is mentioned. Our local SEO services take care of your Google Business Profile itself.
Structured data
Organization, Service, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList markup from schema.org, written to match the visible text, as Google's structured data policies require. Google says AI search needs no special markup; we use structured data because it helps Google read the page and keeps it eligible for rich results.
An llms.txt file
A short text file at the root of your site that lists your main pages, for the services and tools that read it. Google states that Google Search ignores these files, so it stays a small extra on top of the work on your pages.
Measurement
The Generative AI performance report and the Performance report in Google Search Console, visits from AI assistants in your analytics, and the question log repeated at each check-in. If your tracking needs work first, our Google Analytics setup services handle it.
Platforms
Where AI answers come from
Each assistant finds and chooses its sources in its own way, so we work from what each one documents.
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
They are built on Google Search: a page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet, and Google says no extra file or markup is required. Both may run several related searches across subtopics to build a response, one more reason for your pages to answer the questions around your main topic.
ChatGPT search
OpenAI uses OAI-SearchBot to surface websites in ChatGPT's search features, and recommends allowing it in robots.txt along with requests from its published IP ranges. GPTBot, its training crawler, is set separately.
Gemini, Perplexity and other assistants
For Gemini, Google's Google-Extended setting controls whether your content may be used to train Gemini models and to ground answers in Gemini Apps, and it has no effect on Google Search. For each other assistant you care about, such as Perplexity, Claude or Microsoft Copilot, we read the documentation it publishes on crawlers and sources and check your site against it.
Process
How GEO work runs
1. Questions and starting point
We agree the questions your clients ask, then log the answers they get today and the sources each assistant cites.
2. Technical check
Indexing, snippets, robots.txt, firewall rules, structured data and the pages that return errors.
3. Written plan and quote
Pages to rewrite, facts to align, crawler settings to change, and what each side provides.
4. Pages and settings
Answer-first rewriting, structured data, crawler rules and the llms.txt file, checked on a test address where the site allows it.
5. Facts beyond your site
Your profiles and directory listings aligned with the facts on your site.
6. Check-ins
The question log repeated, Search Console and analytics read, and the next pages chosen from what moved.

Questions
Generative engine optimization: your questions
What is generative engine optimization?
Generative engine optimization, or GEO, is the work that makes your pages easy for AI assistants and AI search features to find, read and cite. Google's guide treats it as SEO, built on the same base: pages that can be crawled and indexed, and content worth quoting. GEO adds a closer look at crawler access for AI tools, answer-first writing and the sources each assistant cites.
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will cite my business?
No. Each assistant chooses its own sources, and no agency can make that choice for it. Our side of the deal is a written plan, the tasks it lists and a log of the tracked questions, so you see what changes.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
It is optional. Google states that Google Search ignores llms.txt files and that one will neither help nor harm your visibility there, while other services may read them. We add a short one because it costs little, and we put the real effort into your pages.
Should I block AI crawlers such as GPTBot?
It depends on what you want. OpenAI treats search and training apart: OAI-SearchBot lets your pages appear in ChatGPT search, GPTBot collects content for training, and each setting is independent. On Google's side, blocking Google-Extended does not affect your inclusion or ranking in Google Search.
How do you measure the results?
With three sources: the tracked questions, asked again in each assistant with the cited sources noted; Google Search Console, which counts traffic from AI Overviews and AI Mode in its reports; and the visits your analytics records from AI assistants. Each check is compared with the starting point.
How much do generative engine optimization services cost?
It depends on the number of pages to rewrite, the languages, the technical fixes and the number of questions to track. The visibility check and a look at your site come first, and the written quote follows from them. Request a quote to start: the request is free and binds you to nothing.
