PrestaShop development agency for stores you host and own

DevoraTech is a PrestaShop development agency in Tangier, Morocco, working with brands in Morocco, France and worldwide. We build online stores on PrestaShop, the open-source ecommerce application, for businesses with a real catalogue to run: many products, sizes and colours, price rules, several languages, sometimes several stores. You get the store design, your catalogue in place, payment and delivery options, and the SEO basics, in French, English or Spanish.

PrestaShop is free to download and runs on the hosting you choose. The costs are the hosting, the domain name and any paid module or theme, and all of them stay in your name with the store and its data; for a store in Morocco, our .ma domain name guide explains how that name is registered. As an ecommerce website development company, we pick the platform with you, and PrestaShop is our choice for large catalogues and stores in several markets. Companies with their own team can also hire a PrestaShop developer from us for a module, a version update or a set of fixes.

Part ofE-commerce development

  • Code and data on your hosting
  • Modules chosen one by one
  • French, English or Spanish

For whom

Who it is for

  • A brand with a large catalogue, many product options, or customers in several languages and currencies
  • A business that wants its store's code and data on its own hosting, with no platform subscription
  • A PrestaShop store on an old version that needs an update or a migration
  • A store on another platform that wants to move to PrestaShop
  • A store owner who needs a PrestaShop developer for modules, the theme or fixes

What we build

What we do on PrestaShop

  1. New store

Hosting checked, PrestaShop installed, the theme, your catalogue and your settings, up to the first order.

  2. PrestaShop migration

Catalogue and customers moved from your old platform, old addresses redirected, the new store tested before the switch.

  3. Version update

An old store brought to a supported version, each module checked before the change.

  4. Modules and theme

Features added with modules from PrestaShop Addons or written for your store, and a theme fitted to your brand.

  5. Several stores

One back office for several brands, domains or price lists, with PrestaShop's multistore feature.

What we fix

What a well-built PrestaShop store fixes

  1. An old version holds the store back

The store runs on an old PrestaShop version, and every module change feels risky. PrestaShop's own documentation advises staying within its officially supported versions. We check your version, your modules and your theme, then write the plan: an update, or a migration to a new installation.

  2. Modules pile up and clash

Each module adds code, settings and updates to follow, and two modules can fight over the same page. We keep the modules your store uses, remove the rest, and test the cart and the checkout after every change.

  3. Custom changes vanish at each update

Changes typed straight into PrestaShop's core files are overwritten when the store is updated. We put custom work in modules and child themes, the way PrestaShop's developer documentation recommends, so it survives the next update.

  4. A large catalogue takes hours to manage

Products with many sizes and colours are entered one by one, and prices change by customer group or by country. We set up attributes, combinations, features and price rules, and import your catalogue from a spreadsheet.

What you get

What our PrestaShop development services include

  1. Store design

Home, category, product, cart and checkout pages, designed for phone and computer and approved by you before development starts.

  2. Installation and hosting

PrestaShop installed on hosting that meets its system requirements, with URL rewriting switched on for readable addresses. We tell you what the store needs before you buy a plan.

  3. Catalogue and imports

Categories, products, combinations, features and brands in place, imported from CSV or spreadsheet files when you already have a list, one file per language.

  4. Modules

The modules your store needs, from the PrestaShop Addons marketplace or written in code for your store, each one listed in the scope with its licence in your name.

  5. Payment and delivery

Bank wire and cash on delivery are built into PrestaShop. Card and wallet payments come from your provider's module, which needs an account with that provider. Carriers, zones and rates are set for the countries you sell to.

  6. Languages, currencies and stores

Languages and currencies set for your markets, with titles, descriptions and addresses filled in for each language. Multistore is added when you run several brands, domains or price lists.

  7. SEO basics and redirects

Friendly URLs, a title and a description for each product, category and page, canonical addresses switched on, and a redirect for every old address when the store replaces another site.

  8. Training

A session on orders, products, discounts and modules in the back office, and every account and licence handed over in your name.

Platforms

When PrestaShop fits, and when another platform fits better

We recommend a platform in the written scope, based on your catalogue, the markets you sell to and who will run the store.

  • PrestaShop fits

A store built around its catalogue: many products and combinations, price rules by customer group, several languages, currencies or stores, on hosting you control and with no monthly platform fee.

  • Shopify fits better

You prefer a monthly plan that covers hosting, platform security and software updates. Our Shopify development company page explains that option.

  • WooCommerce fits better

Your store lives next to your content and your blog on one WordPress site. Our WooCommerce development agency page covers that case.

  1. Modules and Addons

Features beyond the core come from modules. PrestaShop Addons is the official marketplace for modules and themes; some are free, others paid, and each one brings updates to follow.

  2. Multistore

PrestaShop runs several front offices from one back office. Its documentation lists the uses: a domain name for each store, a B2B and a B2C version, different branding, or the same products at different prices.

  3. Updates and migrations

Updates within a major version go through PrestaShop's Update Assistant module. A jump to a new major version can call for a migration: a new store is installed, your data moves into it, and each module is checked for compatibility first.

Process

How a PrestaShop project runs

  1. 1. Call and brief

Your catalogue, your customers, the countries and languages you sell in, and the tools the store must talk to, on a video call if you are abroad.

  2. 2. Written scope and quote

Version, hosting, theme, modules, catalogue, payment and delivery, languages and stores, and what each side provides.

  3. 3. Design

The home, category and product pages first, on phone and computer, approved by you.

  4. 4. Build on a test address

The store takes shape on a test address, with your catalogue and the payment modules in test mode. For an existing store, we work on a copy, so the live store keeps selling.

  5. 5. Launch

Test orders, payment, delivery, speed and phone display checked, friendly URLs switched on, old addresses redirected, then the store opens.

  6. 6. Handover and support

A training session, then the updates and changes agreed in writing, as part of our website maintenance services.

Questions

PrestaShop development agency: your questions

  • How much does a PrestaShop store cost?

It depends on the design, the size of the catalogue, the modules, the languages and stores, and any migration. Request a quote to receive a written quote with a line for each part. The PrestaShop software costs nothing: you pay for the hosting, the domain name, any paid module or theme and the payment fees, recurring costs that the quote lists apart.

  • Can you handle my PrestaShop migration without losing data or visitors?

Yes. Categories, products, combinations, customers and addresses are imported from files, and the order history moves too when the scope includes it. We list your old addresses and redirect each one to its new page before the switch. For an old PrestaShop store, every module is tested on a copy before the live store changes.

  • Do I need custom modules, or will Addons modules do?

Many stores run well on PrestaShop's core features and a few Addons modules, which cost less to set up and to update. A module written for your store suits a rule of your own, such as a special price calculation, an extra checkout step or a link to a tool of your own. We recommend one or the other in the written scope, and write custom modules and child themes in code when your store needs them.

  • Can one PrestaShop back office run several stores?

Yes, with the multistore feature. Each store can have its own domain name, branding and prices, and stores in one group can share customers. We switch it on when you sell under several brands or to both businesses and consumers, and keep a single store when one is enough.

  • Can I hire a PrestaShop developer for my existing store?

Yes. Store owners and companies give us a defined piece of work: a module, a theme change, a version update, speed fixes or support after launch. Each job has a fixed price, or a developer works on your store for an agreed share of each month, at a monthly rate, with one month of notice to stop. We start on a copy of your store, and the store stays in your name.

  • Do you work with stores in France and abroad?

Yes. We build and update PrestaShop stores from Tangier for clients in Morocco, France and other countries, by video call, email and WhatsApp, talking with you in English or French. Tangier keeps GMT all year, so it is one hour behind Paris in winter and two hours behind in summer. Your accepted quote is our agreement, and a short contract or an NDA is added when you ask, signed by email.
